The Eleventh Little Indian Boy

Just got back from seeing the new Angelina Jolie film with my bud JY. He didn' t think much of the production. I thought that it was a nifty movie because it had all the elements required to keep me interested in the story and included a burgeoning love story that featured a climatic (Ahem...romatic scene) moment which was very tastefully done. Totally kept the integrity of the film intact. Nice. I'm not going to divulge too much about the movie, but I do believe that alot of the people who end up seeing it will find ways to relate to the characters and perhaps be touched by the simplicity of it all. Synopsis: Chick Flick/Romantic Comedy.....Once in the theater and perhaps a rental there after. Definately one for the playbook baby! In response to his newness' questions.....

1. What are your hobbies?
All sports ( I definately try), cooking, reading, and generally aquiring enlightenment through knowledge. Knowing is half the battle.

2. Do you collect anything? If so, what?
All kinds of stuff. Definately a pack rat. Most noticeably beanies (only the bears), sports stuff, and a few toys here and there.

3. Is there a hobby you're interested in, but just don't have the time/money to do?
It would definately be rowing crew. Man, I really want to get into that sport. But, it takes more time, money, and dedication than I
can conciously afford right now. Which is also why I don't have a dog yet.

4. Have you ever turned a hobby into a moneymaking opportunity?
Sports Cards and other stuff used to be a mini business. 89 UpperDeck Griffey baby!

5. Besides web-related stuff (burbs, rings, etc.), what clubs do you belong to?
I think I'm a member of the Safeway club. I definately have their card.

Today I saw a guy ( slender looking fobbish asian male) walking around the grocery store wearing white overalls and a tight white t-shirt. My first reaction was.....WHAT THE HECK IS THAT!!!???? I ain't no fashion guru like my man JC or anything...but........unless you are a painter, farmer, genetic XX, extra in a Tennesee Williams production, or a plain old duke of hazard......you SHOULD NOT be wearing overalls. I think that this phenomenom falls along the line that what is "fashionable" changes dramatically from time zone to time zone. It was really noticeable while I was in China for a time last fall. Lots of loud colors, patterns, and other things that could be considered "faux pas" back here in the states. You know? But in the end the only opinion that matters is your own. I don't think that he noticed.....or even cared....one bit that I thought he looked like a chump. For all I know he could have been laughing inwardly at me because of the breakaway adidas stripper pants/sandals/t-shirt/baseballcap get up that I was rocking. Oh well....two things still come to mind 1.) Men still shouldn't be caught dead in a pair of overalls.......2.) Ignorance is bliss........Later.

So this is what it is like to own a little piece of the blogger universe. Hmmmmm...... I have to say that I don't really know what to expect or say because I've always been a pretty private person when it comes to my thoughts and opinions. Heck, I don't even keep a journal for fear that the contents inside would someday be unearthed and turn my world into utter chaos. Can you tell that I had a traumatic diary incident as a child? Haha. My daily grind is pretty routine so there really isn't much that I can post beyond the usual, but I'll try my best to let you in to the trappings of my mind and hopefully there are people who can relate out there.Keyword:HOPE.

I'm going to space my paragraphs out of courtesy for my buddy blogFu. I agree with you dog.....makes it easier on the eyes. So I've been thinking alot about Jonah lately. Could it be that we just finished the first installment of studies at Lumps last week? For me Jonah has always been the person that my sunday school teachers have painted over the years. The guy who disobeyed God and then got hoovered by a whale....and lived. Its odd that we never studied this book in college. I found it pleasantly surprising as to how very human Jonah's plight was and how it certainly parallels many things in my everyday life. To a certain extent I believe we all have things that God has in mind for us, but we continue to look the other way, run, or even SPRINT from.

It was really awesome how God used Jonah as a witness to all those sailors in the midst of his rebeliousness. Especially for a rebel looking for a cause like me. I walked away with a greater appreciation of how we cannot run from what is divinely meant to be. Man, I really have been eating this stuff up lately. Don't know for sure how I can draw any specifics yet. All I do know is that people who exceed the hype totally rock!!

On a lighter note, my new favorite restaurant is this little dive out in the north beach area called Steps of Rome. Actually run by real Italians! Sorry, where I'm from Chinese people have their hands in almost every type of food venture. If you're going to go....plan to go in the late evening after 10. This place is usually jumping. Typical stylish, slightly femme, handsome ( not in that British horsey way) waiters that dance, sing, and sling out some of the best proscuitto/provolone sandwiches this side of the atlantic. Oh, if you're a female patron you get mucho extra attention too. Don't believe me? Think that it wouldn't be fun for guys? Just ask my buddy Krabby. He knows what's up. Peace.

Not many people know about the ELEVENTH little indian boy. Quite simply he was the one who didn't really want to follow in the footsteps of the other 10 and at times even held grandiose dreams of being a cowboy one day. In a world that is changing ever so fast, one can only hope and pray.
