The Eleventh Little Indian Boy

Thursday, November 07, 2002:

Just ate an order of salt fish and chicken fried rice from one of those microasian takeout restaurant clones. The dish was kinda oily and oversalted somewhat.....but seeing as how I had a slice of cheese and a bowl of cereal for breakfast....No complaints from this satisfied soul. Couldn't really piece anymore interesting info together since my last posting so let's just get on with it and fast forward out to "Act 19" instead....

First meeting of new SG leaders for the study on Romans / I think that a large majority of Christians around my age have already studied or read through this book many times over / prestudy has certainly gotten a boost with the addition of several new faces / do you know how HARD it is to seperate two lifesavers candies that somehow were fused together during packaging?, Madden 2003.....the bane of my existence.....that is until a 21-7 upset over the "Master", Fantasy basketball / I think that running two leagues is kind of overbearing....can't believe Krabby is running four / I much prefer fantasy Premiership soccer over NBA these days, Zachary's Pizza and shooting some stick out in Berkeley / it's really neat how they line the top of the pie with tomatoes / 3 slices + 3 glasses of water = 33% Fat....33% Happiness....33% Sleepiness....and 1% desire for dessert / there is no way...NO WAY...that we should have lost that many games in a row.....especially since the odds were in our favor / shorty got mad geometry with the short game.....gonna have to work on the distance and power over the offseason, volunteering with some kids out at MY's school out in Daly City, was probably more scared of the kids than they were of me at first, can't believe that some of them would not eat the tuna alfredo salad, oh how I miss nappy nappy time, by the end of the day I was dog tired.....thank goodness for homemade lasagna and garlic bread......, Everwood.....Ephram....keep your head up dog....she did you wrong.

I'm feeling a tad bit more random than normal today so this post will just be random splurts of thought dished out gatling style......

Working with the kids at Head Start was a great experience. It allowed me to have fun and play with the little people while gaining some insight into the world that many of the nation's more underpriviledged families go through on a daily basis. That totally sounded more profound that it actually was......haha.....the day just really made me think deeper on issues that have been on the back burner for quite some time now. One lesson learned was that kids can be crafty and manipulative no matter what age they are. Especially little girls....haha. Case in point: Upon completion of nap time.....this cute little girl walked up to me with a sock and ask that I help her put her footwear on. She was so cute that I couldn't say no and knelt down to do so.....Whoosh!!!! Suddenly I was surrounded by the lollypop guild.....every child asking me to help them put on their shoes and socks. It took awhile, but I got them all ready to march out and have snacks / play time. Little did I know that the regular teachers usually instruct them to dress themselves after nap time and I had been the victim in a bad case of dimples, smiles, batting eyelashes , etc. I looked in the mirror just to make sure and yep....right there smack dab in the middle of my forehead......SUCKA!!!!!!

Simplicities in life have made me smile more consistently this week. It is truly neat how you can spot God's hand in just about anything encountered on a daily basis. I remember seeing all these tankers and giant cargo ships parked out in the bay during the harbor strike. The process started with.....Man, it is so cool how man has been able to take something as dense as steel and engineer it to use physics and "float".......progressed to.......wow, at night they are lit up with lights just like giant alien spacecraft in the movies.......culminating with.....WOW!!!! The way that they are all out there floating and moving around.....it totally resembles a formation of star destroyers just like the ones in the Star Wars installments!!!! I dunno.....call me wierd....but I just remember thanking God on the spot for allowing us the technology to make such great advancements that in return allow us to find many unlikely moments to cherish. Some other simple things in life appreciated: A funny laugh, hopping up and down to hang up a coat....peace....haha, freshly folded laundry, egg salad sandwiches, the perfect fallen leaf, GOP domination, Stevie Franchise, and the list goes on...haha.

Gonna have to go soon and go over my prestudy notes. Aaaarrrgghhh....the salt fish and chicken be holding me down!!!!!!

Not many people know about the ELEVENTH little indian boy. Quite simply he was the one who didn't really want to follow in the footsteps of the other 10 and at times even held grandiose dreams of being a cowboy one day. In a world that is changing ever so fast, one can only hope and pray.
